Lucas 3 1/2 months

In the past week Lucas has become such an active little boy! He is constantly kicking his arms and legs, trying to grab things and move his body. No more newborn! He has transitioned to 2 longer naps and maybe one shorter nap a day with longer awake periods. He likes playing (sometimes with his brother), but mostly just being upright and held by someone is his favorite. He can fully support himself on his legs while being held and no more bobbly head. He can completely hold himself upright when sitting too and loves the bumbo seat. It is amazing what a difference even a couple weeks makes at this stage of development. He probably weighs 13-14 lbs and wears 6 months size clothes. He is ready to graduate to size 3 diapers shortly. I don't think we could love him more-he has added so many wonderful things to our family in just these 3 short months. In the interest of fun(thanks for the idea Irene:)) , I posted some old pics of Trevor when he was 3 1/2 months old b/c everyone is always telling me how much they look alike. It's funny-people always say that the third kid has the least pictures. Well, with the age of digital photography-Lucas probably has 20x more pictures saved than Trevor did at the same age. The only real exception to them looking alike is that Lucas is going to have Hazel/green eyes not brown like Trevor's. So have fun guessing who is who!!

Challenger Soccer Camp 2007
Today was the first day of Challenger Soccer camp for Trevor. He has camp for an hour every morning this week. This year he is one of the biggest kids at camp so he sets a great example for the younger ones by listening well and following instructions. The camp this year is on the new turf field at the high school which is awesome! Trevor's coach Steve is from Scotland and teaches them all kinds of things about soccer-Most of all they have fun and they get to wrestle! Even though it is going to be in the 90's and humid this week, we are really looking forward to camp every day:)

Beach Days....

What today felt like.......

Warm breezes, sand, soft waves crashing. Perfect temperatures, warm sunshine, the smell of salty air and french fries. A guitar playing, soft singing, kite flying. Kids playing, making sandcastles, running into the waves. A perfect day.

Strawberry Picking

Today, we went strawberry picking, our first fun family summer activity. We went to a small farm in Cape Elizabeth, the first day they were open. We picked 6 quarts and will probably eat them all in a week. The berries are juicy, ripe and delicious!

My Child My Love My Life

(an exerpt from Downblogger)

I wish the world could see you as I see you

Wish they knew the joys you've brought to me

So many people quick to judge us and see you as someone who shouldn't be

They tell me that your life is not worth living

if they were I, they would have never let you live

They cannot know the thing it is that we know

They will never know how much you have to give

They talk a lot of sacrifice and burden

They imagine that your being is our loss

How can they know you saved me when you found me- when I never even knew that I was lost.

True enough, my world has changed forever-nothing in it is as it was so long ago

Your entry in our world has changed so many things, but none so much as they have changed my soul.

Why do we live our lives at all then if there is some race that we must finish first

Why do we deny ourselves it all then we drown so that we may quench our thirst

You taught me to stop and smell the tulips, they are different than the roses, this is truetheir scent is in my every pore nowI never would have known them without you

To all the many people who would not choose you,who think your life is somehow tragedy,

I say you have outlived them and outloved them.

I am grateful God chose you just for me

You love your life and everyone thats in it-you shine your light without knowing that you do Illuminate the darkness with your sparkle my child, my love, my life, thank God for you.

SUMMER WEEKENDS!
There just is not enough time on weekends, each night we just fall into bed exhausted from all the work (and fun!) . We had an especially fun day yesterday with a family get together and cookout for Father's day. The cousins all play so well together. Lately we have been doing alot of outdoor work on the house, planting the front bushes, cleaning up the yard, finishing our fence, cutting down dead trees in the woods, and setting up our swingset and pool! Yes-We finally have a swingset! It is the best money we ever spent. We are going to spend every nice day outside, swinging, climbing and swimming. Ah, the lazy (well not so much) days of summer are finally here. Life is good.....
